Today, teachers of the Department of Biotechnology attended the webinar “Sustainable Agriculture”, organized by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS). This webinar explores sustainable agriculture, immersing itself in the interaction between conventional crops and their microbiomes. Speakers demonstrated how modern sequencing techniques can show how plant microbiomes affect pathogens after harvest and on crop conservation, rhizosphere of roots and soil, and plant productivity. This knowledge of soil and plant microbiota of different crops is used in the development of agricultural practices for sustainable crop production.
