On April 07, 2023, Olga Kaliuzhna, Associate Professor of the Department of Biotechnology, gave an open lecture for applicants for higher education in the specialty 162 Biotechnology and Bioengineering of the OP “Industrial Biotechnology” on the topic “Application of biotechnology methods in animal husbandry. Creation of improved and new genotypes of farm animals” (discipline “Newest technologies of biological products production”).

The lecture discussed the reasons for the need to continuously improve agricultural efficiency, highlighted areas and methods of the latest technologies in animal husbandry, with a detailed description of genetic engineering technologies, considered the use of improved and new genotypes of farm animals to improve the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of meat and milk and for the production of therapeutic proteins.
