On September 5, 2024, teachers of the Department of Biotechnology of NUPh congratulated the first-year students of the program “Biotechnology”

The meeting started with a welcoming speech by the head of the department, Professor Natalia Khokhlenkova, who congratulated the newcomers on the beginning of the academic year. She noted that biotechnology is one of the most promising fields of modern science, emphasized the relevance of the chosen specialty and stressed the importance of a responsible attitude to learning.

The students got acquainted with the teachers of the department: Prof. Olga Filitsova, Associate Professor Olga Kalyuzhna, Associate Professor Natalia Dvinskikh and Assistant Alina Solovyova, who presented the main areas of study under the educational program, told about the opportunities for scientific activity; shared their experience and advice.

Olga KALIUZHNAYA, the guarantor of the Biotechnology Program, introduced the current version of the program, focusing on its content and components; she clearly explained the logical scheme of distribution of educational components by training cycles.

The exciting moment of the meeting was the proclamation of the Hymn to Microorganisms, which was joined by all those present, and the acceptance of future biotechnologists into the Community of Biotechnologists of the NUPh.

The first-year students had the opportunity to talk to the professors, tell them about themselves and ask questions. Thanks to the relaxed atmosphere, the applicants felt like part of a university community ready to support them on their way to success.
