Подоляка Ганна

I am Anna Podolyaka, entered the NUPh to study Industrial Biotechnology in 2000, the first time I was admitted to the university in this specialty.
Why biotechnology? I was attracted by the prefix bio-. I have always been attracted to nature and interested in how everything works from the inside. In my opinion, biotechnology offers a unique opportunity to learn the secret mechanisms of living things and implement them for the benefit of humanity. This is how I imagined the profession of a biotechnologist.
During my studies, the department’s teachers showed us the diversity of industries where biotechnology methods can be applied, from genetic engineering to ecology.
In 2004, the Department of Biotechnology was established and I started working at the department as a laboratory assistant while still studying.
Study tours to various enterprises and research centers were very useful. It was a good decision by the department administration, because these excursions complemented the practical base of the new department at that time and gave students access to modern tools in the field of biotechnology.
I graduated from the university in 2007 with a master’s degree in biotechnology.
Then, for thirteen years, I worked at the Research Plant “GNCLS” LLC in Kharkiv, nine of which were as a deputy head of the phytochemical shop. The theoretical background I received at the university helped me quickly understand the technologies for obtaining APIs from medicinal plants.
Since 2022, I have been working at Kyivmedpreparat JSC of the Arterium Corporation as a documentation master in the tablet form shop, which is, unfortunately, a little far from biotechnology, but I apply the various knowledge I gained during my studies here.
