Mykola Rybalkin was born on January 19, 1986 in Kharkiv. In 2003, he graduated from the educational complex No. 161 in Kharkiv. In 2003, he entered the National University of Pharmacy, specializing in Industrial

Biotechnology. In 2008, he graduated from the National University of Pharmacy with a degree in Biotechnology Engineering. From 2007 to 2009, he studied at the National University of Pharmacy by correspondence, majoring in Quality, Standardization and Certification, and received the qualification of a Specialist in Standardization, Certification and Quality.

In 2008, he entered the postgraduate program of the National University of Pharmacy, specializing in Drug Technology, Pharmaceutical Organization and Forensic Pharmacy, which he graduated early in 2011.

In 2011, he defended his PhD thesis on “Development of the composition and technology of Candidosin allergen solution for immunodiagnosis of candidal infection” (supervisor – Professor N.I. Filimonova).

From 2008 to 2011, he worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Microbiology of the National University of Pharmacy. From 2011 to 2018 he worked at the Department of Biotechnology of the National University of Pharmacy as an assistant. In 2018, he was awarded the honorary title of associate professor. From 2018 to the present, he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Biotechnology.

He successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Pharmacy on the topic “Scientific and experimental substantiation of the composition and technologies of the injectable solution of the Candidocid vaccine for the prevention and treatment of candidiasis” in the specialty “Technology of medicines, organization of pharmaceutical business and forensic pharmacy” in 2018 (scientific adviser – Professor N.I. Filimonova).

Public activity

Along with teaching and scientific work, M.V. Rybalkin is active in public life. He took an active part in the working group on the preparation of documents for licensing and accreditation of educational programs of specialty 162 “Biotechnology and bioengineering”: “Industrial Biotechnology” and “Pharmaceutical Biotechnology” (Master’s degree). In the 2021-2022 academic year, he was the guarantor of the educational program “Industrial Biotechnology” and was a member of the working group of the educational program “Biotechnology”, since 2022 he has been a member of the working group of the educational program “Industrial Biotechnology”. Since 2021, he has been a member of the editorial board of the journal Annals of the Mechnikov Institute.

Scientific school

Areas of research: development of immunobiological drugs for immunodiagnosis, prevention and treatment of candidal infection; microbiological studies of antimicrobial activity; development of technological regulations for drugs, quality control methods.

Publishing activities

About 150 scientific and methodological works have been published, including 142 scientific and 9 educational and methodological works, including 62 scientific works published in domestic and international peer-reviewed professional journals, 10 articles in journals included in the Scopus scientific metric database, 2 monographs, 2 textbooks, 5 methodological recommendations, 1 patent for invention, 6 patents for utility model, 6 copyright certificates for a work, 3 information letters.
